iOS 13.1 NOT WORKING
On the new iphone 11 ios 13.1 is not working. Support staff told me either to wait apple store to release the update or downgrade to a previous iOS version.
Payed annual plan and I’m not using it. :-(

Some clarification needed for newbies to VPN...
Some people have un-achievable expectations from a VPN. I travel a lot, including China, where I spend several months: Astrill is simply vital for me.
Whenever the Chinese government decides to close communication, there’s nothing that most normal human could really do. So Astrill might not work too. Period. Having said that, Astrill is probably the most reliable VPN I ever tried between the long list of VPN you find on the store.
Free VPNs are pretty useless, especially if you search for reliability (how many friends chatting about “service down”) and some kind of privacy.
A decent service has to be paid. Astrill is not cheap, but so far I had a good service in return.
This is why I put 5 stars and thank you for your commitment.

After subscribing for one year the app stopped working. I had to delete from my iPhone and reinstall it, now it seems to work properly.

Doesn’t work
Since ages Astrill hasn’t be the same anymore. I live and work in China. The pc version works quite well actually, but on iOS the apps keeps on disconnecting or failing to connect. Most servers are crashing. Do not download the app!!!

This app, basically , doesn't work at all since January 2016. The customer service have been telling me that " soon a new version will be released" but nothing like this happened so far. I'm very disappointed. I even payed for the Stealth VPN add-on and it's pretty much useless. Thanks a lot, ASTRILL!

Do not download it. Doenst work especially for Chinese users who want to skip there Great Wall. The customer service is awful and you won't get money back, wasted one year subscription. The remedy is called express Vpn wich works pretty stable in China

stealth VPN must be free for chinese users, thieves
astrill is basically not working in china since january 2016. the thing I hate the most is that it COULD work with the function “stealth VPN” , which is part of the program, free for few days, after it you have to pay it as an add-on. Astrill always apologises for “china problems”, instead of these pathetic apologies why don’t put the stealth VPV FREE for china users? since we have paid for a service that now is not working. thieves

It's from January that in China Astrill VPN doesn't work at all while others VPN services, even with some difficulties, are working properly.

Since end of January 2016 is not working in China while many others VPN works fine and Astrill is not for free. They always apologize giving you 2 week free without fixing the problem. When they will be able to solve it than it will be 4/5 stars for me also if the speed has never been very good as others.

We use IOS in ipad and iphone now they disappeared all server. There are only three 1 Los Angeles and Telecom Unicom both from china. Please resolve this problem because we live in Shanghai

It doesn't works with IOS8. Don't buy it. Already have contacted Astrill live chat support and already followed all their instructions. It Doesn't works properly yet. Every time new iOS upgrade come out Astrill doesn't works and you have to wait too long time before they (Astrill) upgrade it. So, don't waste money. I'm client since almost 2 years and always like that. Never more.

Great app! Easy to solve prob with iOS8
I update to iOS 8 and also my Vpn didn't work, but astrill has a website with live chat support, so they help me, in real time, to solve the problem. And it's very easy: after run iOS 8, you just need to uninstall astrill from your iPhone, delete Astrill Vpn
profile and then re-installing app and profile. Now Astrill works better then before. I can not stay in China without a Vpn and this is a good one!
