As a deeply personal emotion, a sense of “belonging” can be experienced in many ways: through the cultivation of communities, the fostering of human connections, the context of a space. In this episode Paul Gulati, Director at Universal Design Studio, and Verena Haller, Chief Design Officer at The Standard Hotels, explore how a sense of belonging is kept at the heart of the hospitality sector. How does creating or finding a public space that ‘feels right’ play out in our lived experiences? What do people need today and in their future to feel part of a place or community?

Descrizione

Inside Out is an original audio series from Universal Design Studio and Design Anthology UK exploring how human behaviour and design connect.
This five-part podcast explores the connection between human behaviour and design in casual conversations between Universal’s directors and brand pioneers, hosted by Design Anthology UK’s editor-in-chief Elizabeth Choppin.
Each episode pinpoints a human emotion or action – ‘belong’, ‘remember’, ‘make’, ‘dissent’ and ‘choose’ – to investigate how designers and brands approach their work with these inherent instincts in mind.
